Food Equity
Equality & Democracy
ABDC is a proud member and active supporter of the FEEDSA non-profit organisation based in Johannesburg. FEED stands for Food Equity, Equality, and Democracy.
FEED was established in 2020 after the founders realised the need for a collaborative, system-thinking and circular economic-based approach to the food system. This brought together a combined 19 years of experience working in different parts of the food system.
FEED aims to increase food access and to diversify the food system in South Africa by taking a multi-faceted, multi-stakeholder approach. This approach promotes the ability of communities to have a say in what they produce and eat by working towards a food value system that is more equitable, allows more equality and is democratic in its nature.
ABDC invites all South Africans to partake in the FEEDSA programs to help contribute to the vulnerable communities of South Africa.
